Own Boat Tuition
We understand that sometimes you want to learn in the familiar environment of your own boat and people you know. We can teach you anything from a full RYA course to maybe just a day’s instruction focusing on your own individual requirements.
Instructions can be arranged at any time that is suitable for you for a minimum of one day.
Cost: Sail $250 per day.
Depending on location, there will be an extra charge to cover the instructor’s travel from and to the location of where the boat is berthed and you will be responsible for feeding the instructor throughout the training. All running costs associated with the running of the boat will be borne by the owner.

Equipment list for Own Boat Tuition:
- Anchor
- Bilge pump (manual as well as electric)
- Radar reflector
- Flares for the waters in which you will use your boat
- Fire extinguishers and fire blanket
- Lifejackets (with harness)
- Liferaft (not a necessity for coastal sailing)
- Horseshoe buoy(s) with light Dan buoy
- Man overboard recovery equipment
- VHF Radio Navigational equipment (charts / electronic charts, plotter, dividers, and GPS)
- First Aid kit
- Mooring lines and fenders
- Spare fuel
- Tool kit
- Depth and speed gauges
- Engine spare parts – fuel/oil filters, drive belt, impeller spare oil
